The Tactile Sideboard: TAC211, a creation of the renowned British designer Terence Woodgate and Spanish maker Punt, is a blend of minimalistic design and seamless functionality. With its unique push-latch system, opening doors or drawers only requires a gentle touch, thereby eliminating the need for handles and preserving the clean lines of the sideboard. The cabinet’s sweeping design is available in a range of wood veneers that beautifully curve around the recessed front, set off by a contrasting glossy black or white finish. The Tactile Sideboard, available in a variety of sizes, was rightly recognized as a standout design by Wallpaper magazine.
Punt
Got the Punt? The companys name translates as point, representing the start of design for this modern Spanish design house. Designers Lola Castell and Vicent Martnez pioneered the design scene in the beautiful seaside city of Valencia when they founded the brand in 1980. Five years later, Vicent debuted Literaturaa double-row, overlapping bookcase with the front component on wheels that, he observed, was born to solve the problem of storing books. More literature and other objects could be contained this way. The now-signature piece put the company on the global design map, acknowledges Jos Manuel, Punts current creative director.
Today, Punts collaborative roster includes studios in and outside Spain, among them Copenhagens Norm Architects, Paris-based Arik Levy, Barcenloas Estudio Manel Molina, Londons Terrence Woodgate, Berlins Stephanie Jasny, and Monica Armani from Trento, Italy. Each piece is carefully crafted down to the last impressive detail in Spain.
